Job summary

Lokar Inc in Knoxville is seeking a mechanically inclined individual for a hands-on role producing automotive parts. You will perform manual machining operations including broaching, tumbling, tapping, drilling, cutting, milling, and turning to manufacture parts for steering wheels and shifters.

This full-time day shift (7:30am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday) offers a climate-controlled facility and a safety‑driven work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
Strong mechanical abilities.
Ability to follow instructions in a detailed and concise manner.
Strong attention to detail.
Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Perform broaching, tumbling, tapping, drilling, cutting, milling, and turning (manual).
Produce parts used for steering wheels, shifters, and other automotive components.
Work safely and in a clean environment by following procedures and company policies.
Communicate issues of part quality or availability to management or peers.
Use measurements to verify machine operation and adjust tolerances as needed.
Recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctions.
Operate manual equipment such as cold saws, drill presses, and lathes.
