Lokar Inc in Knoxville is seeking a mechanically inclined individual for a hands-on role producing automotive parts. You will perform manual machining operations including broaching, tumbling, tapping, drilling, cutting, milling, and turning to manufacture parts for steering wheels and shifters.

This full-time day shift (7:30am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday) offers a climate-controlled facility and a safety‑driven work environment.

Formación

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• Strong mechanical abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions in a detailed and concise manner.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Pre-employment drug screen.

Responsabilidades

• Perform broaching, tumbling, tapping, drilling, cutting, milling, and turning (manual).
• Produce parts used for steering wheels, shifters, and other automotive components.
• Work safely and in a clean environment by following procedures and company policies.
• Communicate issues of part quality or availability to management or peers.
• Use measurements to verify machine operation and adjust tolerances as needed.
• Recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctions.
• Operate manual equipment such as cold saws, drill presses, and lathes.

Description

• We are searching for a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and enjoys problem solving. Tasks include broaching, tumbling, tapping, drilling, cutting, milling, and turning (manual). This position requires detailed focus on producing parts used for steering wheels, shifters, and other various automotive products.
• Work in a safe and clean manner by complying with procedures, rules, and company policies.
• Ensure quality standards are met.
• Ability to communicate with management or peers concerning issues of part quality or availability.
• Perform detailed procedures according to hands-on and verbal instruction.
• Use measurements to determine accuracy of machine operation and adjust tolerances as needed.
• Ability to recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctions.
• Regular usage of cold saws, drill presses, hydraulic presses, broaches, manual mills, manual lathes, tumblers, and other various manual equipment.
• Other duties and/or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basis.
