Job summary

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, seeks a Manual Machinist to join a safety-conscious team in the La Porte, TX area. You will set up and operate manual machines to produce precision parts while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role involves planning stock, keeping records, and meeting production deadlines. The position offers a swing shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with overtime including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 3–5 years machinist experience in a job shop or production environment.
• Prior experience with set-up and operation of lathe/manual machines.

Responsibilities

• Machining by studying work orders, blueprints, or drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, and fixtures.
• Measure and mark dimensions on material for subsequent machining.
• Select and align fixtures and cutting tools on mills, lathes, grinders, and shapers.
• Control speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
• Maintain specifications through drilling, grooving, turning, and finishing operations; troubleshoot as needed.
• Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications.
• Plan stock inventory and place/expedite orders for stock as needed.
