Job summary

Staffmark Group in West Monroe, LA is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and operate manual machining equipment, monitor product quality, and help produce consistent results in a fast-paced production environment.

The position requires 3+ years of experience with lathes and milling machines, the ability to read blueprints, and strong mechanical aptitude. Pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour with a Mon-Fri 6 am–2:30 pm schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, saws, and other machine shop equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and work orders.
• Machine parts to specified dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
• Inspect completed work using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting tools, and materials for machining operations.
• Repair, modify, and fabricate replacement parts for industrial equipment.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain equipment in safe working condition.
• Troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Follow all company quality, safety, and operational procedures.
