You will read drawings, verify setups, perform quality inspections, document results, and contribute to continuous improvement in a busy electro-mechanical environment. A 40-hour schedule with overtime is typical.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a machinist.
• Experience with manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform machine setups.
• Strong computer and math skills.
• Maintains personal set of trade tools.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Able to work a regular 40-hour schedule with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual machine tools to manufacture precision components.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds based on job specs and material type.
• Standardize tooling layouts for quick access; minimize zeroing.
• Perform preventive maintenance; report malfunctions.
• Safely operate forklifts and lifting equipment as required.
• Read and interpret drawings; verify travelers and setup sheets.
• Use precision instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Document production and inspection results; communicate with supervisor.
