Position Overview
At our Rosedale, MD plant, we are in search of a Manual Machinist with a minimum of 10 years experience as a Machinist in the trade (Tool & Die experience is a plus). We will train on site to become a tool and die maker. You will need to hold tolerance ±.0005 to .001 of an inch. You will need to know how to set-up and run engine lathes, Bridgeport Mills, drill presses, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders and do layout work.
The machinist will need to have the ability to read and interpret part drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, manuals and specifications to determine dimension and tolerances of finished work pieces to assure the needs of production and customers. The machinist we choose will also need an eye for detail and strong work ethic. They will also work with our engineering team to help better our stamping die sets, to make changes to the lines at our plant.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of punch presses / stamping presses with particular expertise working with and maintaining die sets. Strong ability to set-up, adjust, repair, operate, and maintain plant equipment, especially punch / stamping presses.
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece to assure the needs of production and customers.
- Ability to operate lathe, mill, surface grinder, cylindrical grinder, and drill press.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to have an eye for detail and a strong work ethnic
- Warehouse experience, a plus
