Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN is seeking a Manual Machinist to set up and operate large manual lathes, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications. Training provided during day shift with growth opportunities on site.

The role requires reading blueprints, using calipers, micrometers, and verniers for precise measurements, and performing in-process inspections. Health benefits and 401K are included; weekly pay and site training are available.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• High School Diploma or Trade School Certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large manual lathes to manufacture parts per blueprints.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints and production instructions.
• Use precision tools to measure parts and ensure tolerances are correct.
• Change tooling and complete machine setups independently.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 11pm (Training Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm)

Pay Rate: $20 - $25 p/hour

Manual Machinist Job Description

• Set up and operate large manual lathes to manufacture parts according to blueprint specifications
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production instructions
• Perform accurate measurements using precision inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, verniers, and measuring tapes
• Machine parts to required tolerances and quality standards
• Change tooling and complete machine setups independently
• Conduct in-process inspections and complete first article inspection documentation
• Safely operate lifting devices and material handling equipment
• Move and stage materials as needed and become certified to operate a forklift
• Complete daily machine maintenance and equipment checks
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
