OPEX Corporation is hiring a Manual Machinist for our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ.

We seek dependable, organized, mechanically skilled individuals with extensive experience. If you are punctual, communicative, diligent, detail-oriented, and work well in a team, OPEX may be the right place for your career.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Set up and operate manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, tapping heads, arbor press, and surface and OD grinders.
2. Maintain a clean, safe work area.
3. Perform daily maintenance of machines and inform supervisors of necessary repairs.
4. Read and understand layouts, job packets, and blueprints.
5. Inspect parts using micrometers, gauges, and inspection instruments.
6. Perform side operations during machine cycle time (e.g., deburring).
7. Collaborate with team members to meet quality, productivity, organizational, and safety standards.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Manual Machinist required.
• Ability to perform operations under minimal supervision, maintaining quality and productivity.
• Understanding of safety regulations.
• Effective planning and execution skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with PC and Microsoft products.

Physical/Work Environment

• Work in a machine shop setting.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand throughout the shift.
