Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team on 1st shift. You will set up and operate manual lathes, mills, boring mills, and other tools to produce precision components for large industrial equipment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of manual machining experience, reads blueprints, uses precision measuring instruments, and works safely with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manual machining experience preferred.
• Strong experience operating manual lathes and mills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
• Experience machining large components is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage setups with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, boring mills, and other conventional machine tools.
• Machine, modify, and repair large industrial components to blueprint specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and work instructions.
• Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds appropriate for various materials and applications.
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards throughout production.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair projects involving worn or damaged equipment.
• Work collaboratively with machinists, welders, and maintenance professionals to complete customer projects.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
