Job description

Title: Machinist

Shift: First Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Typical, subject to client confirmation)

Salary: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour, plus paid benefits and dependent on experience

Machinist Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Machinist to manufacture, repair, and modify critical components for the metalforming industry. This role exists to minimize machinery downtime and enhance overall productivity by ensuring all parts are machined to precise technical specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual lathes, boring mills, engine lathes, Bridgeports, and vertical turret lathes (VTLs)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine optimal machining operations and sequences
  • Perform precision measurements using a variety of metrology tools to ensure parts strictly meet client specifications
  • Monitor machine operations continuously to detect malfunctions and make necessary real-time adjustments
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering strictly to all established safety protocols
Reporting Relationships

The Machinist reports directly to the Shop Supervisor and does not have any direct reports.

About You
  • Demonstrate proven experience operating manual lathes, boring mills, engine lathes, Bridgeports, and vertical turret lathes (VTLs)
  • Possess a strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and material properties
  • Maintain the ability to read, interpret, and apply complex technical documents and engineering blueprints
  • Exhibit excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Show strong problem-solving skills and a high mechanical aptitude
  • Work efficiently both independently and as a collaborative part of a production team
