Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in team initiatives to identify and resolve safety issues.
- Contribute to developing LEAN solutions throughout manufacturing.
- Operate equipment safely and independently, including machinery necessary for producing super abrasives and related products within assigned work areas.
- Operate automated machinery, presses, lathes, mills, furnaces, wire EDMs, and robotic equipment.
- Handle hazardous chemicals and operate chemical processing equipment safely.
- Perform hand assemblies, blending, sieving, and other tasks as required.
- Use and interpret results from measuring tools, gauges, microscopes, and visual standards.
- Perform minor tooling changes, setup, and troubleshooting; assist with complex setups and troubleshooting as needed.
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance such as lubrication, filter changes, and cleaning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area.
- Train others on the safe operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Follow documented work instructions, including PPF, POCI, EOI, JSA, and assembly prints.
- Ensure product and process quality standards are met; communicate concerns to technical support.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, cooperative, and team skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with production management tools, LEAN methodologies, and maintaining accurate records.
- Manual dexterity for handling and positioning parts.
- Ability to lift and transport materials weighing 20-40 lbs.
- Capability to operate manufacturing equipment after training.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime during busy periods.
- Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, and using management systems.
- Availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.
Education and/or Work Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience.
Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on the shop floor.
