Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in team initiatives to identify and resolve safety issues.
• Contribute to developing LEAN solutions throughout manufacturing.
• Operate equipment safely and independently, including machinery necessary for producing super abrasives and related products within assigned work areas.
• Operate automated machinery, presses, lathes, mills, furnaces, wire EDMs, and robotic equipment.
• Handle hazardous chemicals and operate chemical processing equipment safely.
• Perform hand assemblies, blending, sieving, and other tasks as required.
• Use and interpret results from measuring tools, gauges, microscopes, and visual standards.
• Perform minor tooling changes, setup, and troubleshooting; assist with complex setups and troubleshooting as needed.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance such as lubrication, filter changes, and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area.
• Train others on the safe operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Follow documented work instructions, including PPF, POCI, EOI, JSA, and assembly prints.
• Ensure product and process quality standards are met; communicate concerns to technical support.

Qualifications

• Experience with production management tools, LEAN methodologies, and maintaining accurate records.
• Manual dexterity for handling and positioning parts.
• Ability to lift and transport materials weighing 20-40 lbs.
• Capability to operate manufacturing equipment after training.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willingness to work overtime during busy periods.
• Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, and using management systems.
• Availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.

Education and/or Work Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience.

Technical Skills/Physical Requirements

Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on the shop floor.
