Job summary

Carney Sandoe & Associates is seeking a Leave Replacement Physical Education Teacher for an immediate start at a K-12 independent school in Manhattan, NY. The role focuses on developing engaging PE lessons and promoting student activity for grades K-5.

The successful candidate will hold a NY state certification in Physical Education and preferably a Bachelor's degree in physical education or related field. Collaboration with faculty and coaching duties are expected as part of a vibrant school

Qualifications

Must have NY state certification in Physical Education.
Bachelor's degree in physical education or related field preferred.
Experience in elementary PE or developmentally appropriate activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop lesson plans and teach K-5 Physical Education courses.
Collaborate with the PE department, learning services team, and administrators to meet school goals.
Coach/supervise lower school after-school interscholastic activities.
Work with parents and teachers to support student well-being and academic growth.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
