The Manager of Clinical Services provides day-to-day clinical and supports operational leadership for the Clinical Services Department. The manager ensures that patients receive timely, individualized, trauma-informed, age-appropriate, and evidence-informed services from admission through discharge. The role translates hospital expectations into reliable daily practice by leading staff, maintaining treatment and group coverage, monitoring documentation and discharge planning, resolving barriers, and escalating risk to the Director of Clinical Services.
This is a working-manager position. Direct patient care and clinical coverage are provided as assigned and within the incumbent's professional scope; however, leadership, regulatory accountability, staff supervision, and departmental operations remain the primary responsibilities of the role.
Education: Graduate of an accredited social work, or related mental health field; Master’s Degree required.
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in psychiatric/mental health field. Prefer candidates with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in advanced clinical/management practice.
License: Candidates must hold a LCSW license (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in the state of Louisiana
Additional Requirements: A strong knowledge of TJC, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities. Current CPR/BLS and hospital-approved verbal de-escalation and physical crisis-intervention certification, or successful completion within the hospital's required orientation period, with ongoing maintenance thereafter.
Skills/Competencies: Clinical and management experience required: experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings; demonstrated skills in working with diverse populations; experience in fiscal management; experience in clinical supervision; experience in crisis, individual, family and group treatment; oral, reading, writing and mathematical skills at the master’s degree level; public speaking, teaching and training skills; experience in program development; skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations; organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management and team building skills, and demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible and calm.
