The Director of Clinical Services provides the leadership and strategic planning of the clinical services programs offered at the facility, ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility’s performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the overall administrative processes and management systems for all clinical services offered at the facility, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of clinical treatment programs.
Education: Graduate of an accredited social work, or related mental health field; Master’s Degree required.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in psychiatric/mental health field. Prefer candidates with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in advanced clinical/management practice.
License: Candidates must hold a LISW license (Licensed Independent Social Worker) in the state of Iowa.
Additional Requirements: A strong knowledge of TJC, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
Skills/Competencies: Clinical and management experience required: experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings; demonstrated skills in working with diverse populations; experience in fiscal management; experience in clinical supervision; experience in crisis, individual, family and group treatment; oral, reading, writing and mathematical skills at the master’s degree level; public speaking, teaching and training skills; experience in program development; skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations; organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management and team building skills, and demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible and calm.
