Job summary

Philadelphia Phillies in Florida is seeking a Mandarin Interpreter to support a Taiwanese player in our Minor League system by facilitating clear communication between the player, coaching staff, medical staff, and organizational personnel.

You will serve as an interpreter and cultural liaison, helping the player transition and develop on and off the field; lodging accommodations are provided while traveling or assigned to team locations.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
• Experience in or around baseball or interpreter roles preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively and adapt schedule.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and cultural awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time English–Mandarin and Mandarin–English interpretation for a designated player.
• Assist with communication during practices, games, meetings, workouts, medical appointments, and activities.
• Support day-to-day logistics, scheduling, and travel coordination for the player.
• Serve as a cultural liaison between player and Phillies staff.
• Travel extensively as assigned within the Minor League system.
• Spend significant time in Florida and the Dominican Republic early in the assignment.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with players and staff.
• Assist Player Development staff with additional translation or communication needs.
