Job summary

NIHAO Chinese is a Mandarin immersion program in Southern California seeking enthusiastic Mandarin teachers to join our team.

We offer seven locations across Southern California for preschool to AP Chinese students, with part-time teaching in the afternoon and potential full-time options by combining roles. We value engaging lessons, creative activities, and collaboration with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Education, or Early Childhood Education
• Native Mandarin speaker with proficiency in English
• Passionate about education and skilled in creative teaching methods
• Ability to express effectively through voice and gestures to bring lessons to life
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities with young children (ages 4-12)
• Familiarity with education software and Google Suite is a plus
• Excellent multitasking abilities balancing responsibilities with children and tasks

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fun and effective teaching plans that facilitate students' progression in learning Mandarin.
• Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining a lively pace and keeping students motivated.
• Assess students' achievement of learning objectives and record progress.
• Create simple yet challenging curriculum with engaging activities like coloring, crafts, and more.
• Establish and maintain a well-developed routine and classroom environment for young students.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to positive learning experiences for all children.
• Communicate with parents and school personnel in person and via email using educational software.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and curriculum specialists, sharing ideas and providing feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
