Job summary

Tutor Me Education in San Marino, CA seeks tutors with special education experience to provide in-home, one-on-one tutoring for students with diverse needs. You will deliver tailored instruction based on IEP goals, strengthen English language development, reading, and math, and support students in daily activities within their homes.

Ideal candidates are fluent in Mandarin and English, experienced with ELL/multilingual learners, and able to differentiate instruction using multisensory

Qualifications

• Fluent in both Mandarin and English (required).
• Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL) or multilingual students.
• Strong background in English language development and literacy.
• Experience teaching foundational math with language supports.
• Skills in vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing.
• Experience supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one instruction to strengthen English language development, including vocabulary and reading comprehension.
• Teach foundational literacy skills through explicit instruction in phonics, reading fluency, and sentence development.
• Support writing development by teaching grammar, organization, and structure.
• Reinforce foundational math concepts with appropriate language supports.
• Utilize Mandarin strategically to clarify concepts and support language acquisition.
• Teach executive functioning skills: organization, planning, time management, and task completion.
• Integrate SEL to promote confidence, resilience, communication, and self-advocacy.
• Use visual supports, repetition, modeling, and structured practice to reinforce skills.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on student performance and language development.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment encouraging participation and long-term success.
