Job summary

Tutor Me Education in San Gabriel, CA is seeking passionate tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring. You will work directly with students in their homes to deliver personalized instruction based on each child’s needs and IEP goals.

As a Tutor, you’ll support daily activities, build rapport, and use structured literacy techniques to help students with reading and math. Multiple positions available in San Gabriel; pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour.

Qualifications

• Active teaching credential required (Special Education credential strongly preferred).
• Reading Specialist experience preferred, ideally supporting dyslexia.
• Extensive experience with Autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, sight words, reading fluency and comprehension.
• Deliver structured literacy intervention to strengthen foundational reading skills and address dyslexia characteristics.
• Support foundational math skills, including number sense and basic operations.
• Reinforce handwriting and written expression through structured practice.
• Create multisensory, hands-on lessons using manipulatives and tactile materials.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction to meet evolving needs.
