Job summary

HDR is seeking a seasoned architecture leader to head the Minneapolis studio, guiding strategy, quality assurance, and profitability. The role requires coordinating annual plans with regional Principals while expanding client relationships and pursuing new projects with local designers and national experts.

The candidate will oversee personnel activities, including staff planning, marketing strategies, and financial management, ensuring compliance with corporate standards across the local office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in architecture or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience.
  • Professional architectural registration.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Minneapolis architecture studio delivering strategic vision, QA, and profitability.
  • Implement the annual plan while collaborating with Managing Principals regionally.
  • Develop client relationships and pursue new projects with local and national experts.
  • Oversee staff planning, annual plans, marketing, PR, project and financial planning, and financial management.
  • Establish and maintain local office policies, procedures, and quality control per corporate standards.

Job description

Responsibilities

Leading the Minneapolis architecture studio and delivering strategic vision, quality assurance, and profitability.

Implementing the annual plan while collaborating with other Managing Principals across the region.

Developing client relationships and pursuing new projects with local designers, technical leaders, and national experts.

Overseeing personnel activities, including staff planning, annual plans, marketing strategies, public relations, project and financial planning, and financial management.

Establishing and maintaining local office policies, procedures, and quality control processes, while ensuring adherence to corporate standards.

  • Experience in Healthcare, Higher Education, or Science environments
  • Local market knowledge and presence
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a closely related field
  • Minimum 10 years of prior management experience
