Cowen Rodriguez Peacock is a premier personal injury law firm dedicated to representing Texans impacted by catastrophic events such as truck, car, and drunk driving accidents. With a strong focus on delivering justice and supporting community well-being, the firm has achieved numerous multimillion-dollar settlements, underscoring its commitment to extraordinary client advocacy.

Founded by Michael Cowen, Sonia Rodriguez, and Malorie Peacock, the firm is known for its robust litigation skills, particularly in trucking and vehicle accident cases. Guided by the values of integrity, communication, and transparency, Cowen Rodriguez Peacock stands at the forefront of legal excellence, driven by a mission to champion the rights of injury victims and provide comprehensive legal support across Texas.

The Managing Paralegal role at Cowen Rodriguez Peacock is pivotal to enhancing operational excellence within the firm. This position exists to provide focused leadership to the paralegal and legal assistant teams, ensuring that they operate at peak effectiveness and consistently meet the standards required for complex personal injury litigation. By overseeing people and processes, the Managing Paralegal supports the firm’s mission to deliver exceptional client outcomes and uphold Cowen Rodriguez Peacock’s reputation as leaders in personal injury law. This is a people-leadership and operational management role, not a personal docket-carrying paralegal position.

What you'll do:
  • People Management: Oversee approximately 12 paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring effective team dynamics and performance. Serve as the functional manager for paralegals and legal assistants, partnering with attorneys when performance, consistency, or accountability issues arise.
  • Quality Control: Conduct routine quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with litigation guidelines and firm procedures.
  • Process Consistency: Establish and maintain consistent operational standards across all litigation teams, promoting a uniform working environment.
  • KPI Ownership: Lead the development and monitoring of key performance indicators to drive team performance and accountability.
  • Training Oversight: Manage onboarding and training materials, including maintaining Trainual content so procedures stay current and accurately reflect firm processes.
  • Change Management: Introduce process improvements, build trust with the existing team, and lead change in a way that strengthens collaboration, accountability, and process adherence
What we're looking for:
  • Paralegal Experience: Significant experience in a paralegal role within litigation environments, particularly personal injury.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with a focus on performance management and development.
  • Process Aptitude: Strong understanding of operational frameworks, quality assurance, and procedural consistency.
  • Change Management: Experience in implementing process improvements and change management initiatives in a legal setting.
  • Communication Skills: Expertise in conveying complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Attorney Background (Optional): While not mandatory, an attorney transitioning to management could be a strong fit if they meet leadership criteria.
  • On-Site Role: This is an in-office role based in San Antonio, TX.
Why you should work here:
  • Growth Opportunity: Engage directly with firm leadership and shape the future of a dynamic and growing litigation team.
  • Impactful Work: Play a vital role in optimizing the firm’s operations, directly influencing client satisfaction and case outcomes.
  • Cultural Leadership: Be a part of a firm known for its commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical representation.
  • Learning Environment: Engage in continuous professional development with exposure to high-stakes personal injury litigation.
  • Competitive Compensation: Target salary range of $90,000-$97,000 for paralegal-track candidates, with flexibility up to approximately $100,000-$121,000 for attorney-background candidates transitioning into management.
  • Benefits: Details will be discussed during the interview process.
