Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Managing Engineer, Data Engineering to lead a team building scalable data platforms and solutions that power decision-making.

You will set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve reliability, security, and performance across data pipelines, while balancing hands-on technical leadership with production support and governance.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience building data solutions and enterprise software systems.
• 1–3 years of technical leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong hands-on data pipeline development in Python/Java/Scala.
• Experience with Spark and Kafka.
• Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Engineer, Data Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will guide a data engineering team responsible for building and supporting scalable data solutions that power business operations and decision‑making.

You will set engineering standards, strengthen delivery practices, and partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to improve the reliability, security, and performance of data platforms.

The position also combines hands‑on technical leadership with mentoring responsibilities, helping ensure strong production support, sound data governance, and durable pipeline architecture.

Location: Remote – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $193,725 annually
