Job summary

Harvard University’s VPAL seeks a Managing Director to lead the department’s production, administration, and strategic initiatives. This role oversees 80+ staff, a multi-million budget, and cross-cutting projects from course creation to technology deployment, with a focus on AI integration and process transformation.

The successful candidate will partner with the Vice Provost and senior leadership to advance VPAL’s mission, drive financial planning, and nurture relationships across Harvard

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including leadership roles.
• MBA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and manage the department’s 80+ person staff.
• Oversee all aspects of department’s +$22 million budget.
• Develop and execute on department goals and objectives.
• Create and maintain high morale within the organization.
• Ensure training and development plans are in place for staff at all levels.
