Citrin Cooperman is seeking a Managing Director to join the Quality – Professional Standards team to design, implement and oversee modern quality management systems for engagement teams and leadership. You will lead quality reviews, provide expert guidance, and drive remediation efforts focusing on employee benefit plan audits.

This high-impact role emphasizes coaching teams, simplifying complexity, and ensuring audits are planned, executed and reviewed with independence and objectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA designation required.
• Extensive employee benefit plan audits with quality management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality policies aligned with professional standards and firm objectives.
• Advise engagement teams on auditing and reporting matters.
• Provide technical guidance on employee benefit plan audits (defined contribution, defined benefit, health plans, ESOP).
• Translate standards into practical guidance to improve engagement execution.
• Promote a consultative culture with defensible documentation.
• Coach and mentor quality and engagement leaders to strengthen supervision and review.
• Identify quality themes and risks; partner to execute remediation plans.
• Stay current on changes in standards, regulations and best practices.
• Lead internal inspection activities and readiness for external reviews.
• Participate in technical due diligence for potential accounting firm acquisitions.
