Wedbush Securities is seeking a proven Managing Director to build and lead our Semiconductors & Hardware Investment Banking practice — a mission-critical vertical as chips, devices, and advanced systems define the future of everything from AI and defense to cloud, automotive, and industrial tech.

This role is not a ramp-up opportunity. We are seeking a senior banker with active M&A or capital markets mandates who wants to plug into a powerful platform and begin producing on day one — with full autonomy and unmatched financial upside.

This opportunity is open to candidates throughout the United States, who will report into either our New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Chicago offices.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Originate and close high-value M&A, private placements, and strategic advisory transactions in semiconductors, chip design, computing hardware, sensors, infrastructure, and related verticals
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Boards, founders, and CEOs of growth-stage and established hardware and semiconductor companies
  • Manage end-to-end deal execution — from pitch and structuring to diligence, negotiation, and closing
  • Build and grow a high-impact deal team, with authority to hire and develop junior talent
  • Shape Wedbush’s thought leadership and market visibility in the semiconductor and hardware space
  • Work cross-functionally with capital markets, equity research, institutional sales, and trading to deliver a full suite of solutions to clients

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of investment banking experience, ideally with a focus on Semiconductors, Hardware, or Deep Tech
  • A robust, active pipeline with mandates or highly qualified opportunities in motion
  • Proven track record of closing complex M&A or capital markets transactions ($50M–$500M+)
  • Deep relationships with growth-stage founders, strategic acquirers, and tech-focused investors (PE/VC)
  • FINRA Series 79, 63 is required; (24 a plus)
  • A strong commercial mindset, executive presence, and the drive to build a business, not just work in one

The reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $250,000. Colleagues may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on the colleague's and the firm's performance.
