Position Overview

AMP is hiring a Managing Director, Commercial Origination & Business Development reporting to the VP, Commercial. This role can be REMOTE within the contiguous United States, preferably in the western region.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new relationships and leverage existing industry contacts to source deals, build a pipeline, and manage the business development process from origination to close.
  • Become an expert in AMP's offerings to effectively present solutions to various customers.
  • Operationalize go-to-market strategies.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships and integrations with key accounts.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential partners.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, regulations, and incentives, and articulate value creation opportunities.
  • Financially model opportunities from both AMP and customer perspectives to maximize deal value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private and public partners to foster repeat business within high-value regions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 1-4 regional originators.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 12-15+ years of experience in originating, structuring, and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Strong strategic thinking and attention to detail.
  • Experience in lead generation and deal structuring.
  • Ability to create financial models and influence decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills tailored to varied audiences, including C-suite.
  • Proven leadership of sales and business development teams.
  • Ability to represent the company publicly and build relationships with stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred.
Working Conditions

The physical demands include prolonged sitting, working on a computer, and lifting up to 15 pounds. The role involves frequent travel (~50%) across the western US.

Location & Travel

Full remote with frequent travel within the western US.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $195,000 - $217,000 annually. Equity options available. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA, 401(k), flexible time off, paid holidays, and more.
