Job summary

Halifax West is seeking a Managing Director in the United States to lead transaction structuring, strategic financing, and end-to-end deal execution. Expect to oversee engagements from inception to closing, mentor teams, and drive measurable revenue results in a hybrid model with partial office time in Downtown Los Angeles.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in investment banking or capital advisory, a finance-related degree (MBA/CPA/CFA a plus), and a proven track record in M&A and capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
• 10+ years in investment banking, corporate finance, or capital advisory.
• Experience at a middle-market or lower middle-market investment bank preferred.
• Willingness to travel and readiness for client meetings during flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engagement teams with an apprenticeship-style approach.
• Serve as lead advisor and primary point of contact on engagements.
• Oversee client deliverables and ensure timely execution.
• Advise independent sponsors on valuation, structure, negotiation, and financing.
• Lead capital solutions engagements across debt, mezzanine, equity, and hybrids.
• Analyze historical and projected financial data, including earnings quality and leverage.
• Oversee CIMs, lender/investor materials, models, and transaction docs.
• Identify pre/post-close strategic and capital structure opportunities.
• Lead negotiations and closing processes.
• Deliver exceptional service to stakeholders.
