Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Managing Director to join our Business Tax Services practice in San Francisco. This leader will help shape and grow our Asset Management tax offerings for a range of clients from Fortune 100 to emerging managers.

The role emphasizes directing tax compliance and consulting, building client relationships, guiding multiple engagements, and collaborating with Audit and Advisory teams to expand market opportunities. A CPA or equivalent, JD/LLM, or Enrolled Agent is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of recent focused Financial Services, asset management and tax experience in an accounting firm, organization, and/or law firm
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and licensed CPA, JD/LLM or Enrolled Agent
• Proven business development with ability to build and maintain client relationships and pursue targets
• Experience leading multiple engagements and mentoring staff in a collaborative team
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex information

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in developing our Asset Management tax practice.
• Direct tax compliance and consulting for asset management clients, focused on reporting, structuring, and risk management.
• Lead and coordinate multiple client engagements with proactive client communication to manage expectations.
• Lead BD activities; pursue new client opportunities with Audit and Advisory.
• Contribute to growth and knowledge of Asset Management tax staff.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in developing our Asset Management tax practice
• Direct tax compliance and consulting services for asset management organizations, from Fortune 100 to emerging businesses with a focus on tax reporting, structuring and tax risk management
• Build, manage, direct and monitor multiple client engagements teams while maintaining active communication with clients in an effort to manage expectations and help ensure client satisfaction
• Lead, participate in and contribute to market and business development activities external to the firm; including identifying and pursuing new potential client service opportunities by collaborating with KPMG’s Audit and Advisory practices
• Contribute to the growth, experience and institutional knowledge of the Asset Management tax practice staff level team members

Qualifications
