Job summary

BRG's Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice seeks a Managing Consultant to lead quality methodology and analytics projects in healthcare. Based in the Baltimore-Washington area, this full-time role combines data analysis, client collaboration, and growth strategy.

You will mine large data sets, create visualizations in Tableau, and perform research and modeling to improve clinical quality and revenue performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, econometrics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Proficient with analytical software; SAS and MS Excel required.

Responsibilities

  • Mine, synthesize, and analyze large data sets; identify trends and communicate results.
  • Generate visualizations using Tableau and other analytical software.
  • Develop and maintain electronic databases and streamline processes as needed.
  • Perform literature and data reviews from public-domain, industry, or client resources.
  • Audit own work and collaborate in a team to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

The Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) provides end-to-end advisory support to healthcare providers, payers, investors, and other stakeholders navigating complex strategic, operational, financial, and clinical challenges. Business Transformation Advisory partners with healthcare organizations to define enterprise-wide strategy and align financial, clinical, and operational priorities to long-term objectives. This work spans enterprise and service line strategy, population health and value-based care models, long-range financial forecasting, and regulatory and alternative payment methodologies—helping leaders make informed decisions that drive sustainable growth, resilience, and system-wide performance improvement.

The Managing Consultant requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability, advanced degree or significant work experience, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of a Managing Consultant can be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject matter research to data collection to the preparation of statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis.

Candidates located within the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area are preferred.

Job Responsibilities
  • Use computer programs to mine, synthesize, and analyze large data sets; look for trends, communicate results, and recommend solutions based on findings
  • Generate visualizations using Tableau and other analytical software
  • Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets and streamline processes as needed
  • Perform detailed research and analysis, then put the results into action (e.g., gather, review and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public and commercial databases)
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions
  • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality
  • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Participate in group practice meetings and provide creative recommendations that bring value to our clients
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the areas of statistics, biostatistics, econometrics, mathematics, computer science, or other related subject
  • 5+ years prior work experience required, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Proven capability with analytical software and other software required:
    • SAS and MS Excel are required
    • Tableau is strongly preferred
    • SQL, Snowflake, R, or similar experience preferred
  • Knowledge of database theory and design is preferred
  • Knowledge of report writing is preferred
  • Knowledge of CMS quality measure methodology including but not limited to CMS Star Ratings, Hospital Value-Based Purchasing, Hospital Acquired Condition Reduction Program, and Hospital Readmission Reduction Program is preferred
  • Commitment to producing high-quality analysis and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to work within a team environment

Salary Range: $140,000 – $185,000

Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
