Position Summary

Job Title: Managing Consultant, Emergency Management Recovery - Environment & Engineering

Employment Type: Full Time or Part Time (Full Time preferred)

Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Regular

Compensation: $90-115k/annual

Location: Remote with up to 50% travel required

Travel: Up to 50% travel/deployment and on-site work

Role and Responsibilities

The Managing Consultant will oversee disaster recovery projects requiring environmental or engineering expertise, including geospatial components. Responsibilities include project leadership for FEMA Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation, CDBG-DR programs, and local/state initiatives, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and programmatic standards. The role involves guiding technical staff, managing project teams, client engagement, business development, and supporting disaster response efforts.

Key Tasks
  • Manage operations as an advanced subject matter expert in emergency management
  • Supervise and mentor staff and consultants
  • Lead client engagement, presentations, and networking
  • Support business development and proposal evaluation
  • Ensure project deliverables meet scope, timeline, and quality standards
  • Maintain industry knowledge and pursue professional development
  • Support disaster response activities as needed
Division Specific Responsibilities
  • Lead technical teams in recovery, mitigation, and environmental projects
  • Provide expertise in geospatial analysis, Survey123, and ArcGIS tools
  • Supervise environmental assessments, hazard analyses, and permitting
