Job description

The Manager, Finance Systems & Transformation will serve as the strategic owner of the company’s finance systems ecosystem, with primary responsibility for Workday Financials, enterprise finance integrations, reporting architecture, and ongoing finance systems modernization initiatives. This role will play a critical leadership position in the company’s enterprise finance transformation, including an upcoming Workday Financials go-live, post-implementation stabilization, Salesforce-to-Workday integration design, Workday Adaptive Planning implementation, and long‑term finance systems scalability initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Workday Financials with strong systems architecture, integration, governance, and program management capabilities. This individual must thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment with multiple concurrent strategic initiatives and serve as a key bridge between Finance, IT, Data, Revenue Operations, and external implementation partners. This role will partner closely with the existing Workday HRIS Manager to ensure alignment across the broader enterprise Workday ecosystem while maintaining primary ownership of finance systems strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Systems Strategy & Ownership
  • Serve as the strategic owner of the enterprise finance systems ecosystem, including Workday Financials, Workday Adaptive Planning, financial reporting architecture, and connected finance applications.
  • Lead ongoing configuration, enhancement, optimization, and governance of Workday Financials modules including Accounting, Financial Management, Projects, Procurement, and Prism Analytics.
  • Ensure system architecture aligns with evolving business processes, reporting requirements, operational scalability, and long‑term enterprise strategy.
  • Drive scalable finance systems strategy supporting future growth, automation, AI‑enabled workflows, and operational modernization.
  • Act as the primary internal owner for finance systems roadmap planning, prioritization, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Workday Go‑Live & Transformation Leadership
  • Lead post‑go‑live stabilization and hyper‑care activities for the upcoming Workday Financials implementation.
  • Coordinate issue triage, enhancement prioritization, testing, and defect remediation activities across internal teams and external partners.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to drive user adoption, process optimization, and operational readiness.
  • Establish sustainable governance, support, and release management processes for ongoing Workday operations.
  • Support future finance transformation initiatives, including Workday Adaptive Planning implementation and enterprise reporting modernization.
Enterprise Integrations & Architecture
  • Own and manage the finance systems integration ecosystem, including inbound and outbound integrations across Workday, Salesforce, banking platforms, planning tools, AI vendors, and third‑party finance applications.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Accounting, FP&A, and IT to design scalable Salesforce‑to‑Workday integration architecture supporting contract management, billing, revenue recognition, and reporting requirements.
  • Define governance standards for master data, customer/vendor setup, upstream system requirements, and downstream financial integrity.
  • Design scalable integration architecture leveraging APIs, middleware platforms, and modern data orchestration principles.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure data accuracy, reliability, and operational continuity across systems.
Reporting, Worktags & Data Governance
  • Own and optimize Workday worktag strategy, dimensional design, and chart of accounts governance to support financial reporting, operational analytics, and enterprise scalability.
  • Partner with Finance and Data teams to establish scalable financial data models and reporting frameworks.
  • Support executive reporting, board reporting, SaaS metrics, forecasting, and operational analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure consistency across reporting structures, worktags, security models, and dimensional governance.
  • Enable self‑service reporting and analytics capabilities for Finance stakeholders.
Adaptive Planning & FP&A Enablement
  • Lead implementation and ongoing optimization of Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Partner with FP&A and Finance leadership to build scalable budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and management reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure alignment between Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, HRIS, and enterprise reporting structures.
  • Support scenario modeling, forecasting automation, and enhanced financial decision support capabilities.
AI, Automation & Emerging Technologies
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent workflows across finance operations.
  • Evaluate emerging AI‑enabled finance technologies and integration strategies across the enterprise systems landscape.
  • Partner with Finance and Data teams to improve automation, anomaly detection, data quality, and operational insights.
  • Support future integrations with AI‑enabled finance platforms, workflow tools, analytics platforms, and external data providers.
  • Continuously assess opportunities to modernize the finance technology stack and reduce manual operational processes.
Managed Services & Vendor Oversight
  • Serve as the primary internal owner and coordinator for external Workday managed services providers, implementation partners, and offshore support resources.
  • Prioritize and govern enhancement requests, defect resolution, integration workstreams, and release activities across multiple Workday specialists and vendors.
  • Ensure consistency in system architecture, configuration standards, security design, worktag governance, and reporting frameworks across all third‑party resources.
  • Manage vendor performance, delivery quality, timelines, and escalation processes.
  • Lead cross‑functional coordination across Finance, IT, HRIS, Data, and external consulting partners.
Security, Controls & Compliance
  • Own finance‑specific Workday security configuration, access governance, and controls management.
  • Maintain data integrity, system controls, and compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.

  • Strong understanding of finance operations, ERP architecture, data governance, and enterprise systems design.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce‑to‑ERP integrations, revenue operations workflows, or contract‑to‑cash processes strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting PE‑backed, SaaS, high‑growth, or transformation‑oriented environments preferred.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable systems solutions.
  • Strong program management, prioritization, and execution skills across multiple concurrent strategic initiatives.
