Job summary

L'Oréal USA, Inc. in New York, NY, invites a Manager of Visual Merchandising for the Luxe US portfolio to lead concept to in-store execution across YSL, Armani, Valentino, Prada & Miu Miu.

You will scale global brand directives into localized retail footprints, elevating brand presence and driving commercial growth. This role blends creative design with end-to-end project ownership, oversees budgets and vendor collaborations, and requires 5–7 years of luxury VM experience with strong proficiency

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5-7 years of luxury visual merchandising experience; specialization in Beauty preferred.
  • Technical & Software Skills: Highly proficient in 3D design software (SketchUp) and the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Familiarity with emerging AI design tools and advanced industrial design principles is a plus.
  • Brand & Retail Acumen: Deep grasp of retail design fundamentals, brand identity, architectural layouts, consumer behavior, and competitive market trends.
  • Organizational Prowess: Exceptional project management skills to orchestrate multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and adapt seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A highly collaborative team player who can advocate and negotiate for design solutions while staying flexible to others' views.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Develop strong internal and external partnerships with (but not limited to) Global & US Marketing, Trade Marketing, Store Design, Creative Ops, Procurement and Vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Creative Design & Innovation: Translate global brand vision into 3D in-store fixtures, 2D graphic programs, and immersive retail environments. Author detailed Design Turn Overs (DTOs) for seamless manufacturing handoff. Leverage AI design tools to accelerate ideation and 3D visualization workflows.
  • VM Directives & Planograms: Create seasonal Visual Merchandising launch directives, guidelines, and planograms across wholesale and open sell environments.
  • Retail Design & Execution: Manage new and existing custom counter design and execution; coordinate local production, logistics; provide on-site VM training and field development.
  • Data & Inventory Management: Maintain the permanent store display database and oversight of international POS orders and US inventory levels.
  • Budget Ownership: Track and reconcile project and department budgets.
  • Visual Asset Archiving & Global Showcasing: Direct professional photography to showcase Hallmark executions for global review.
  • End-to-End Project Administration: Manage lifecycle of projects, share progress with stakeholders, maintain timelines, budgets, and vendor workflows.

Role Overview:

The Visual Merchandising Manager is a highly collaborative, ambitious design role leading complex multidisciplinary projects from concept to flawless in-store execution across the Couture portfolio of luxury brands, featuring YSL, Armani, Valentino, Prada & Miu Miu. Operating within the Omni Creative Center of Excellence, you will scale global brand directives into localized US retail footprints, driving brand elevation, consumer engagement, and commercial growth. This role balances creative visual design with end-to-end operational ownership and cross-functional partnership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creative Design & Innovation: Translate global brand vision into 3D in-store fixtures, 2D graphic programs, and immersive retail environments. Responsible for authoring detailed Design Turn Overs (DTOs) for seamless manufacturing handoff. Leverage emerging AI design tools and generative software to accelerate ideation, optimize 3D visualization workflows, and enhance conceptual efficiency.
  • VM Directives & Planograms: Create comprehensive seasonal Visual Merchandising launch directives, guidelines, and planograms across wholesale and open sell environments - tailored to diverse US retail strategies and retailer-specific requirements.
  • Retail Design & Execution: Manage new and existing custom counter design and execution; facilitating creative alignment, local production, logistics; deliver on-site VM training and field development.
  • Data & Inventory Management: Maintain the permanent store display database and oversight of international POS orders and US inventory levels.
  • Budget Ownership: Hold project and dept budget responsibility, tracking, and reconciliation
  • Visual Asset Archiving & Global Showcasing: Direct and own the professional photography process used to showcase L'Oreal USA's best-in-class Hallmark executions for global review in Paris and worldwide distribution.
  • End-to-End Project Administration: Manage the full operational lifecycle of your assigned projects-including sharing project progression with key stake holders for approval, maintaining strict timelines, tracking individual project budgets, and managing vendor development / production to deliver designs within project allocations. Lead and manage vendor negotiations, production workflows, logistics, and execution timelines.
