Job description

Backed by two Fortune 300 firms, Brillian is a technology company focused on helping small to medium sized business owners achieve their goals and the trusted financial institutions that want to better service them. Brillian is a fast-moving, mission-driven team that's building something genuinely new and beginning a roll out to a million SMB owners in 2026. If you want your work to matter and your expertise to have real impact, you'll fit right in here.

Small to medium sized business owners are the primary engine of wealth creation in the modern economy. The asset they build — their business — is almost always their largest, most valuable, and most consequential financial holding. Yet the entire financial services infrastructure — advisors, banks, wealth managers, planning tools — was built around personal assets. The infrastructure to serve the most important asset was never built.

Brillian doesn't ask advisors, banks, or owners to work harder or learn something new. It fills the structural gap that was always supposed to be there — giving everyone in the ecosystem continuous visibility into the business, and a system for acting on what they see.

The Opportunity

At Brillian you will join our Valuation and Advisory team to use your expertise to help service clients and continue to develop our product. Brillian is redefining how business owners understand and optimize their businesses to meet their goals and how financial institutions service business owners. If you thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, want a career trajectory and want to build something that you have ownership in - not just execute on it - this is the role for you.

What you'll do
Product, Practice and Team Development
  • Embed your expertise within our product and organization. Work with our product and engineering teams to refine our solutions to meet the valuation, business analysis and strategic guidance needs of small to medium sized business owners. You’ll help with things like:
  • Valuations for a range of purposes and produced using all three standardized approaches.
  • Streamlining how we intake, cleanup and adjust raw data.
  • Review, refine, and sign-off on valuations.
  • Refine operating efficiencies, benchmarks and personalized guidance to help an owner achieve their goals.
  • Ensure all work is standards-compliant.
  • Embed your expertise within and help perfect our expert advisory model to extend upmarket analysis and guidance to the Fortune 5 Million.
Client Engagement
  • Engage on the review and presentation of Brillian’s valuation and optimization reports to clients. We do things manually before we can scale processes.
  • Present findings to business owners and financial advisors.
Other

You will receive wide exposure to the processes and functions involved in building a high-growth business and will be asked to contribute to special projects as they arise and are appropriate. For example, you may be requested to engage in preparing some materials for our bank and wealth manager partners as we build our partner network

Qualifications

Required Education & Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution (Master's degree or MBA a plus)
  • Active CPA license preferred
  • One or more of the following valuation credentials strongly preferred CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst), ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation), ASA (Accredited Senior Appraiser), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
Experience

3–8 years of business valuation or strategic business accounting experience, including leading engagements, within a public accounting firm, dedicated valuation firm, or advisory practice

Technical Skills
  • Solid understanding of IRC sections relevant to valuation (e.g. 59-60)
  • Familiarity with USPAP standards and AICPA VS Section 100
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; PowerPoint fluency expected
Who You Are
  • A clear, confident communicator – you can explain complex valuation and strategy concepts to a business owner who has never heard the word "EBITDA"
