Job summary

Jobtailor in San Diego, CA, seeks a seasoned UX leader to manage a team of designers and writers focused on Omnipod Dash, Omnipod 5, Omnipod View, and Omnipod Simulator App across iOS and Android. You will develop and coach a multidisciplinary UX group across East and West Coast offices, balancing team growth with product experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HCI, Design, Interaction Design or related field required.
• 7+ years of relevant UX/product design experience.
• At least 3 years of management experience leading large mobile UX teams.
• Experience delivering for consumer-facing digital and physical products.
• Knowledge of medical device development a plus.
• Diabetes domain knowledge preferred.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration on high-visibility initiatives.
• Strong understanding of UX methods and design thinking.
• Familiarity with systems and data management.
• Proficient with UX tools (Adobe CC, Sketch, Abstract, XD).
• Strong portfolio required; willingness to travel internationally and domestically.
• Onsite presence in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of UX designers and technical writers focused on Omnipod Dash, Omnipod 5, Omnipod View, and Omnipod Simulator App across iOS and Android.

• Drive user-centered design practices through the Agile process.
• Integrate design research throughout the project lifecycle with the UX Research team.
• Build and manage a multidisciplinary UX team in a SAFe Agile development environment.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Software Development, Human Factors, Clinical, and Regulatory

• Drive user-centered design best practices through the Agile process
• Integrate design research throughout the project lifecycle with the UX Research team
• Build and manage a multidisciplinary UX team in a SAFe Agile development environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (HCI, Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors and/or equivalent) required
• 7+ years of relevant experience in UX and product design
• At least 3 years of management experience, including managing a large UX team working on mobile app development
• Experience with commercial execution for consumer-facing digital and physical products
• Knowledge of medical device development is a plus
• Thorough knowledge of the diabetes disease state preferred
• Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams on high-visibility initiatives
• Advanced working knowledge of User Experience methods and Design thinking process
• Understanding of systems and data management
• Technical proficiency with UX tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Abstract, XD, or equivalent
• Strong UX portfolio required
• International travel expected at least once per quarter
• Ongoing US travel as needed, at least once per quarter
• In-person team / onsite in San Diego, CA
