Description
As a Transplant Coordinator Manager at LifeLink, you will oversee, mentor, and evaluate Transplant Coordinators and other assigned staff while ensuring compliance with LifeLink Foundation, OPO, and regulatory agency laws, policies, protocols, guidelines, and requirements. You will work within established processes to support LifeLink’s mission to honor donors and save lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide assigned staff toward the accomplishment of LifeLink’s mission and goals, including selection, training and development, scheduling, job assignment, coaching, counseling, appraisal, recognition, and recommending promotional or disciplinary status.
- Direct work planning, approve call schedules, vacation requests, expense reports, and other administrative tasks to ensure adequate staffing and policy adherence.
- Participate in hiring through screening resumes and conducting interviews.
- Manage mid‑year and annual evaluations of coordinators and staff, providing one‑on‑one evaluations to strengthen personal and professional competencies.
- Participate in the Administrator on Call schedule and serve as a backup to the Director of Recovery Services.
- Serve on LifeLink Foundation committees to ensure efficient practice and compliance with UNOS and LifeLink policies.
- Recommend and implement revisions in procurement protocols and participate in the Policy Review Committee to improve the work environment.
- Provide ongoing staff training to ensure compliance with policies and foster staff development.
- Supervise, evaluate, and direct the development of Core Competencies for the department, overseeing annual implementation.
- Assist the Director of Recovery Services with oversight of training, monitoring trainee staff performance, and compliance.
- Facilitate the OPO QAPI process through active participation in the Process/Performance Improvement Committee and related initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Manager of QA/PI and Recovery Services leadership to design and implement projects (e.g., PDSA cycles) to measure performance and implement innovative improvement methods.
- Ensure and monitor ongoing QA processes on all aspects of recovery and documentation, maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory standards (CMS, UNOS, AOPO, AATB, FDA, etc.).
- Maintain current knowledge in the field through participation in national organizations such as NATCO and AOPO.
- Maintain confidentiality of LifeLink business and perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Recovery Services.
Qualifications
- BSN, RN, PA, or equivalent with a strong passion for helping others.
- Four years of experience as a procurement coordinator, or experience in critical care nursing or similar positions with related responsibilities; previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational, problem‑analysis, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate peers and achieve cooperation.
- Good driving record and a current state driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and/or move equipment and supplies weighing 1 to 50 pounds.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a mission‑first environment.
Working Conditions
Work environment is pleasant and comfortable. Availability via cell phone 24/7 is required. Possible high stress and long hours while on call. Flexibility in work schedule based on call schedule/case duration. Hazardous conditions may include exposure to blood and body fluids, cuts, or punctures from sharp instruments and equipment.
