The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management positions within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store execution and performance.
• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Manage financials, analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development.
• Oversee inventory management and customer service leadership.
• Complete operations and management skills training, and learn about AutoZone culture.

Performance and progression through the training program are essential for consideration for management openings. Promotion to a Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager position is not guaranteed and depends on performance and availability.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required.
