Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that offers work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management. Progression to management is typically possible within 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the management team, live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance.
• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Manage financials, analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements.
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development.
• Oversee inventory management and customer service leadership.
• Complete operations and management skills training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture.

Note: Promotion to a Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager depends on performance, availability, and other factors.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are preferred but not required.
