Practice Manager Trainee (Practice Manager I)

Primary Care

Location: New Albany, Indiana

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for the daily operations and supervision of the practice, including objective measures in a "balanced scorecard" approach.
  2. Schedule physician and staff personnel and manage leave requests.
  3. Make recommendations regarding equipment and supplies needed to maintain efficient operations; order supplies and equipment as needed.
  4. Prepare and submit an annual budget.
  5. Collaborate with Marketing and Public Relations to enhance the public image of the clinic.
  6. Establish and maintain an efficient and responsive patient flow system.
  7. Maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, employees, and coworkers.
  8. Serve as the facility's representative to the business community and the public.
  9. Plan and develop new programs within the office; research opportunities and develop plans for the Director's review to market new or existing services.
  10. Handle daily balancing, bank deposits, and invoice processing.
  11. Conduct periodic audits of charts, policies, and procedures, or oversee this process for the entire facility.
  12. Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientation, development, and evaluation of employees.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in business or healthcare-related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills, including managing personnel and technical issues, and knowledge of financial analysis tools and PC skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of payor environments, patient service delivery systems, and federal/state billing regulations.
