The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role providing work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management roles within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager’s supervision, MITs will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team. Responsibilities include:
MITs must complete operations and management training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progress to remain in the program and be considered for management openings. Promotion is not guaranteed and depends on performance and availability.
