Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing a small driver team and/or non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends). The role ensures safe and timely freight movement, load assignment, and provides excellent customer service. The candidate will be trained to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and oversee driver compliance and company policies, working with internal and external contacts to plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight efficiently.
Shift: Flexibility is required. Must be open to relocation after training.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup, reduce turnover, and maximize productivity.
- Fill in for absent staff and participate in projects aimed at optimizing fleet operations and profitability.
- Train and orient drivers and employees, including assisting with internal and third-party systems.
- Maximize fleet efficiency, recommend improvements, measure KPIs, and prepare customer reports and financial analyses, often through face-to-face interactions.
- Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in the market.
- Perform administrative duties such as payroll, budget management, driver counseling, accident reviews, documentation, pay issue resolution, and financial reporting.
- Oversee yard operations including equipment inspections, repairs, and coordinating maintenance to ensure safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service issues, routing, mechanical problems, and other operational challenges.
- Maintain the company's safety culture through driver safety messages, training, reviews, and policy enforcement to ensure DOT compliance.
- Plan and monitor freight movements, assign loads, and adjust routes to ensure on-time delivery and meet customer requirements.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED, with up to 4 years of relevant experience and training; or currently enrolled in a degree program with up to 2 years of experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with flexibility to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent.

Compensation: Salary factors include skills, education, experience, location, and qualifications. May include bonuses and incentives based on company profitability and volume.
