The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the program, progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT maintains an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.

MITs also complete operations and management training, learning key aspects of the business and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression are essential to remain in the training pipeline and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
