The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management role within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead by example and maintain an engaged, productive team.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing training in operations and management skills, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Satisfactory performance and consistent progression are required to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.
