The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is part of the management team. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Managing financials, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Staffing, training, and developing employees
• Managing inventory
• Leading customer service efforts

MITs are also responsible for completing training and learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential for continued consideration for management roles.

Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
