Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to provide work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance as a member of the management team.
• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Manage financial aspects such as analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements.
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development.
• Handle inventory management and customer service leadership.
• Complete operations and management skills training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture.

Performance and progression through training are essential for consideration for management openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Previous automotive experience and financial analysis skills are preferred but not required.
