The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role offering work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs must complete training in operations and management skills, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate consistent progress to stay in the program and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.
