Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Manager, Third Party Risk to join our Enterprise Security Services organization in the United States. The role focuses on leading a multi-disciplinary Third-Party Risk Management program, enabling leadership to make risk-based decisions across supplier categories.

The position requires deep experience in third-party/vendor risk and compliance, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage projects and coach junior staff. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of recent Third-Party Risk/Vendor Risk, compliance or similar experience within a large professional services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED required; relevant industry certifications preferred
• Advanced understanding of Third-Party Risk and Compliance Programs and supporting technology solutions
• Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, analytical and independent judgment skills
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Apply a thorough knowledge of Third-Party and Supplier Risk to provide input to and execute a multi-disciplined strategy and framework across categories (e.g., operations, cyber, information handling, physical security, resiliency).
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with peers and leaders; evaluate compliance and risk reduction activities to drive risk reduction methodologies.
• Manage day-to-day operations with leadership oversight of the TPRM technology systems.
• Evaluate changing operating landscape and recommend changes to strategy to ensure policy consistency and best practices.
• Provide direct compliance oversight for the Third-Party Risk Management program.
• Oversee work products for small/medium projects; coach and mentor junior staff; participate in performance management.

Responsibilities:

• Apply a thorough knowledge of Third-Party and Supplier Risk to provide input to and execute a multi-disciplined strategy and framework, with the ability to enable leadership to make informed, risk-based decisions across disparate categories of Third-Party Risk, for example, operations, cyber, information handling, physical security, resiliency
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with peers and leaders; evaluate compliance and risk reduction and mitigation activities to continually drive towards risk reduction methodologies
• Manage the day-to-day business operations with leadership oversight of the technology systems utilized by the Third-Party Risk Management program
• Evaluate the changing operating landscape and determine its impact on current processes, obligations, and external expectations; recommend changes to strategy to ensure consistency with current policy requirements and best practices
• Provide direct compliance oversight for the Third-Party Risk Management program
• May oversee work product(s) and lead entire small to medium size projects, managing deadlines, expectations, and often contributing to staffing decisions and supervising the work performed by more junior staff; provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to such individuals and may also serve as a formal performance manager of a team of junior employees
• Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of recent Third-Party Risk/Vendor Risk, compliance or similar experience within a large professional services environment
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED required; relevant industry certifications, for example, CRVPM or CTPRP preferred
• Advanced understanding of Third-Party Risk and Compliance Programs and supporting technology solutions with the ability to analyze and synthesize technical data and convey it to non-technical audiences
• Solid understanding key business objectives and how to balance business objectives against risks
• Serve as a change agent for the TPRM function across the organization
• Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, analytical and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; ability to positively influence, mentor and be a credible source of knowledge to less experienced team members
