Overview

The Manager, Therapy Services (NBU) provides strategic analysis of and recommendations for Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU) therapy programming. The incumbent supervises behavior team members in providing behavior therapy services and performs and manages high level administrative tasks as needed to ensure effective program implementation.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide supervision to assigned staff, including recruitment efforts (applicant interviews and participation of the overall hiring process), training, professional development, and progressive discipline (up to and including termination as needed). Oversee practicum students.
  2. Coordinate and develop requirements for the orientation of new staff, ongoing training, and professional development programs.
  3. Monitor staff and develop systems and programs to improve productivity.
  4. Oversee completion of clinical/administrative projects for behavior team staff members.
  5. Serve as a resource for NBU protocol and policy issues for staff, faculty, and other disciplines/departments.
  6. Participate in the development, review, and supervision of the use of standard behavioral protocols (e.g., unit treatment protocols).
  7. Develop and maintain program policies and procedures as needed. Distribute current policies and standard operating procedures to staff.
  8. Maintain all aspects of NBU program evaluation data, to include maintaining database, monitoring outcomes, overseeing admission and discharge measures, and coordinating with directors regarding performance improvement projects. Participate in ongoing program evaluation projects as needed.
  9. Maintain all aspects of NBU inpatient therapy staffing data, to include maintaining databases, monitoring behavior team evaluations and NBU competencies, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for behavior team staff members by utilizing available resources, collecting and analyzing staffing data and trends, regularly assessing and projecting staffing needs, and making programmatic adjustments accordingly.
  10. Maintain documentation for and conduct audits to ensure compliance with NBU and Kennedy Krieger Institute policies and procedures, and standards from the Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
  11. Plan for and monitor case-related expenses to assist with the budgeting process.
  12. Coordinate with the NBU Outpatient program director to disseminate information such as standard protocols and policies across NBU programs.
  13. Complete additional administrative tasks and program improvement projects, as assigned.
Qualifications

Specialized training in applied behavior analysis is required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, or allied discipline is required.
