Job summary

Magnite, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Technical Operations – Demand to lead cross‑functional efforts across NY, Boston, and Denver with hybrid work options. You will manage escalations, troubleshoot complex data pipelines, and deploy AI-enabled improvements for the ClearLine product suite.

You will partner with Product and Engineering to define requirements, reproduce issues, and support resolution. Strong data skills and documentation are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Strong SQL and Python for data analysis, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Aptitude for learning AI technologies and applying AI to ops workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of ad tech and programmatic environments, especially video/CATV.
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills.

Job Overview

Manager, Technical Operations – Demand – relocatable across New York, Boston, and Denver offices with a hybrid schedule (M/F remote, T/W/TH in-office). Leads operational support for Magnite’s ClearLine product, focusing on AI‑driven workflow optimization for CTV, video, and display advertising.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a queue of technical escalations from ClearLine Account Managers, maintaining professional organization, responsiveness, and stakeholder communication.
  • Troubleshoot highly complex technical issues across platforms, systems, reporting pipelines, APIs, and integrations.
  • Apply modern AI tools and emerging technologies to identify repeatable operational challenges, design scalable solutions, automate workflows, and enhance team efficiency.
  • Conduct continuous evaluation and deployment of evolving AI capabilities for operational impact.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for internal and external audiences, including troubleshooting guides, platform feature documentation, process documentation, and customer‑facing support materials.
  • Investigate ambiguous problems proactively, seek answers, ask thoughtful questions, and drive issues to resolution with minimal oversight.
  • Quickly learn new platforms, systems, and technical concepts while demonstrating strong ownership and long‑term retention of operational knowledge.
  • Act as a cross‑functional project lead, coordinating efforts across Technical Operations, Product, Engineering, Account Management, and external partners to resolve issues and execute initiatives.
  • Partner directly with Product and Engineering teams to escalate bugs, define technical requirements, reproduce issues, and support resolution efforts.
  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot custom data feeds and reporting solutions using SQL and Python within Snowflake, Databricks, and related data environments.
  • Query and analyze large datasets across multiple systems using SQL and Python to identify trends, diagnose issues, and support operational decision‑making.
  • Troubleshoot advanced programmatic advertising workflows and integrations, including VAST and OpenRTB protocols, DSP/SSP integrations, audience onboarding and DMP workflows, video ad serving and delivery behavior, tracking and reporting discrepancies, and platform/API integrations.
Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, troubleshooting, automation, and workflow development.
  • Aptitude for learning emerging AI technologies and applying AI tools to operational workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of video advertising ecosystems, particularly CTV and programmatic environments.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities with experience resolving complex technical issues.
  • Strong project management and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to identify root causes, explain technical concepts, and guide stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strategic mindset to balance immediate operational needs with long‑term scalable solutions.
Preferred Experience
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in technical operations, ad tech, programmatic advertising, solutions engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience developing and optimizing media strategies for performance‑driven advertising campaigns.
  • Understanding of the programmatic advertising call chain, including VAST and OpenRTB protocols.
  • Experience troubleshooting ad requests and API interactions using tools such as cURL and browser developer tools.
  • Experience working with advertising agencies, DSPs, SSPs, or related advertising technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of audience targeting capabilities, identity/data strategies, and related advertising technologies.
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary ranges by location:

  • NewYork: $125,000 – $135,000
  • Massachusetts: $115,000 – $125,000
  • Colorado: $100,000 – $110,000

Eligible for annual performance‑based bonus and equity (NASDAQ:MGNI).
