DirectRx is seeking a seasoned technical team lead to steer a cross-functional group of AI engineers, developers, and support staff in a healthcare tech environment. You'll oversee day-to-day operations, drive project delivery, and bridge communications between technical teams and business stakeholders to align with strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role with 2–3 years in a management or team lead capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team of AI engineers, SQL developers, .NET/C# developers, and technical support staff.
  • Oversee daily operations, workload distribution, prioritization, and performance management.
  • Escalate complex technical issues involving hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation for software development initiatives.
  • Guide AI/ML projects to align with business goals and technical best practices.
  • Review development, testing, and deployment of .NET/C# and SQL Server applications.
  • Establish standards, documentation, and processes for tickets, code quality, and reliability.
  • Coordinate hardware procurement, vendor management, and lifecycle planning.
  • Manage external vendors and contractors, including SLAs and performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning.

Job Overview:

You will lead a cross-functional team of technical professionals spanning AI engineering, software development, and technical support. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day team operations, managing project delivery, and serving as a bridge between technical staff and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong people-management skills with hands‑on familiarity across hardware, software development, and enterprise support functions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, including AI Engineers, SQL Developers, .NET/C# Developers, and Technical Support staff.
  • Oversee daily operations of the technical team, including workload distribution, prioritization, and performance management.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical support issues involving hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation for software development initiatives.
  • Guide the team's work on AI and machine learning projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices.
  • Review and support the development, testing, and deployment of applications built on .NET/C# and SQL Server.
  • Establish and maintain standards, documentation, and processes for support tickets, code quality, and system reliability.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on hardware procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, including software providers, managed service providers, and outsourced development resources.
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor service-level agreements, and evaluate vendor performance to support quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning for direct reports.
  • Report on team metrics, project status, and technical risks to senior leadership.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new technical team members.
  • Solid working knowledge of technical support processes, including hardware troubleshooting and IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with software development practices and the software development lifecycle, particularly using SQL, .NET, and C#.
  • Understanding of AI and machine learning engineering concepts, with experience managing or collaborating with AI engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies, with Agile/Scrum experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, with at least 2–3 years in a management or team lead capacity.
Nice to Have:
  • Hands‑on experience writing or reviewing SQL, C#, or .NET code.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Background in AI/ML model deployment or MLOps.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or Microsoft/Azure certifications.
