Job summary

Waste Management in Houston, Texas, is seeking a regulatory/compliance professional to provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to environmental permits and regulatory requirements. The role oversees resources, coordinates activities, and maintains documentation to minimize risk and ensure program compliance.

The candidate will lead and develop teams, review reports, interact with regulators, and contribute to budgets while promoting safety and reliability across operations nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree,
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 7 years of prior work experience (in addition to education requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Provides regulatory and technical guidance to sales, approvals, customer service, and operations personnel.
  • Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
  • Works with regulatory agencies to obtain reasonable permit conditions and other requirements.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems to support and monitor compliance and minimize risk.
  • Reviews and signs environmental and other reports and project submittals.
  • Reviews all waste approvals and provides second signature authorization.
  • Provides technical assistance to operations in order to improve existing or develop new treatment methods.
  • Maintains a technical communication network amongst various coordinators, and participates in community outreach efforts.
  • Oversees personnel needs including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.
  • Submits reasonable budget information and analyzes data versus year-to-date data and prior year budget.

  • Maintains a technical communication network amongst various coordinators, and participates in community out-reach efforts.
  • Oversees personnel needs including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Submits reasonable budget information and analyzes data versus year-to-date data and prior year budget.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this on-site position is $95,700 - $121,990 per year. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
