Job summary

Raytheon, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a Manager of Technical Accounting for the ASDS SBU. The role focuses on revenue recognition, EAC reviews, and applying U.S. GAAP to contract activities within a hybrid US-based setting.

Required 8+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience, SAP/APEX familiarity, and a CPA or equivalent certification is preferred. Relocation is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred; experience with IT systems and data analysis is a plus.
• Experience reviewing contracts or agreements for accounting treatment and familiarity with U.S. GAAP.

• Technical Accounting point of contact for the Raytheon ASDS Strategic Business Unit
• Assessment of new awards for revenue recognition, timing of booking, and identification of performance obligations in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
• Review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages for long-term contracts
• Application of U.S. GAAP and company policies to finance activities
• Participation in technical accounting projects including policy harmonization, data analysis, system testing, and process improvement activities
• Support of external and internal audit activities, including ad-hoc requests, quarterly reviews, and annual audit procedures

• Documentation of accounting judgments and assessments in formal white papers

The Raytheon Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Controllership team has an opening for a Manager Technical Accounting supporting the ASDS Strategic Business Unit. The role includes assessment activities supporting revenue and bookings reported by the business.

Responsibilities include review of new contracts in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for revenue recognition timing and method, review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages, and application of finance policies and procedures to business activities. Additional responsibilities include support of special projects, offset accounting assessments, audit activities, and training activities.

Relocation assistance available, provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.

What You Will Do

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
• Experience with IT systems including data warehouses and ERP softwareWorking experience in accounting, audit, or program finance in industry or public accounting environments

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
